Recommended Use
Specific 4 week Program:

Each week is considered to have a minimum of 3 days of On-Ice practice.

Level 1 (White Drills) = PeeWee and below
Level 2 (Black Drills) = Bantom through High school/Midgets/Junior B
Level 3 (Red Drills) = Junior A to professional

Week 1 Using the XPuck AL
Dynamic warm-up for 5-10 minutes
Level 1-3 stick handling drills for 8-10 minutes
Initial Strength Phase
Week 2 Using the XPuck SS
Dynamic warm-up for 5-10 minutes
Level 1-3 stick handling drills for 8-10 minutes
Advanced Strength Phase
Week 3 Using the XPuck AL
Dynamic warm-up for 5-10 minutes
Level 1-3 stick handling drills for 15-18 minutes
Initial Strength & Endurance Phase
Week 4 Using the XPuck SS
Dynamic warm-up for 5-10 minutes
Level 1-3 stick handling drills for 15-18 minutes
Advanced Strength & Endurance Phase
General instructions for maintenance:
Daily for 10 minutes
  • After dynamic warm-up drills
  • Either before all other stick handling drills; to stimulate the neuromuscular motor patterns to allow greater efficiency when performing further stick handling drills
  • At the very end of practice for reaching exhaustion of hockey specific (stick handling) movements
Doing both would theoretically be even more beneficial.
Warning: these devices are NOT to be used for shooting - they are to be used for flat passing and stick handling only!
